Before we give you any content this week, we are going to make an ask (with a thank you). Huge thanks to anyone who has done this already! And if you haven’t, we’d be so happy if you could vote for us (that is, our Air Aware Labs side) at these Climate Action awards! We are told it takes seconds…
Promo over! In honour of these awards, we are going local this week and delving into data from our Brixton monitoring node. A few trends:
over the last year, we are breaching the World Health Organisation daily nitrogen dioxide (NO2) limit more often than not
this trend gets slightly better into the summer but even in May, we were breaching more than not
thankfully, fine particulate matter (PM2.5) levels were a bit better, with one or two breaches a month, up to six in March
we continue the trend of PM2.5 building up to the evening then taking a long time to disperse over night, whereas NO2 tends to be lowest early mornings
comparing to other nodes, Brixton looks generally higher for NO2 and tracking similarly for PM2.5

Finally, another thank you - to those who have signed the petition focusing on options for clean travel. This week, Global Action Plan team, Rosamund Kissi-Debrah and other dignitaries delivered it to no 10 Downing Street. Well done team! And there is still time to sign if not done already!
