Yep that's why we did the comparison to last year's data - not sure seasonal is the full answer, though yes we'd expect it to look worse over winter months in general
To what should one attribute the persistence of the unusually high concentrations of PM2.5 over the last few months? (Air Quality England data suggests that high concentrations are widespread across much of England.)

Most of the commentary has been about winds bringing in PM from Europe but we sometimes feel this doesn't tell the whole story!
